Look at history in Asangaran ancient cemetery

Asangaran ancient cemetery, located in Ilam Province in west of Iran, is considered as one of the mystical historical sites in the region.

The cemetery dates back to the prehistoric period and the Iron Age.

The Iranian cultural heritage officials believe that the area needs more excavating and exploring to unearth the historical remains.

More than 100 graves are discovered in the Asangaran Cemetery, in which, a whole family was buries.

The gravestones are slatey and very big weighing about 1-5 tons.
